ECZEMA SOCIETY OF KENYA TO HOST DERMATOLOGY CONFERENCE & MEDICAL CAMP IN BUSIA COUNTY
The Eczema Society of Kenya has announced plans to organize a dermatology-patient conference and medical camp in Busia County come mid -October, 2025.
The announcement came during a courtesy visit by society officials to the leadership of the Department of Health and Sanitation in Busia County, where it was revealed that the conference will be held within the Alupe community, a location chosen specifically to honor Alupe’s historical significance in the treatment of leprosy.
The society’s leadership highlighted several key objectives for the initiative, including expanding treatment capacity for dermatology patients and exploring partnership opportunities that could benefit both Alupe University and the sub-county hospital. These collaborations aim to improve access to specialized dermatological care for patients in the region.
County health officials expressed support for the initiative, recognizing its potential to address the growing demand for specialized skin care services in Busia County and the broader Western Kenya region.
