We are a group formed to create awareness on eczema and its management and also create a platform for people to share ideas on eczema.

We are petitioning the Governent of Kenya, through the Ministry of Health, to lift the taxes on skin emolients, creams/ointments that are used in the management of eczema and other dry skin conditions.

Global Parents for Eczema Research, a nonprofit, is partnering with Eczema Society of Kenya (ESK) to explore how patients with eczema and their caregivers experience medical care, treatments, and the burden of the condition. We need you! If you are a patient or a parent of a child with eczema please take a few minutes to complete a brief survey in order to contribute to this study. Participants will be entered into a drawing for a USD$100 gift card. Thank you in advance!

WHAT IS ECZEMA?

Eczema is a skin non-contagious skin condition that causes dry itchy patches of skin,redness,bumpy,flaky skin .Mostly caused by the environment or genes ,Anyone can get this disease, 90% get it when they are babies and this might change and they don’t have it when they are 5years or it continues to adulthood.

The symptoms vary if you contact an irritant or allergen,There are treatments to help one manage the symptoms as there is no cure.
The most prevalent type of eczema is atopic dermatitis, asthma and hay fever are mostly skin related with this condition commonly referred to as the atopic triad.

The Eczema Society of Kenya (ESK) and Usanii Mashariki Gallery (UMG) hosted an art exhibition at the Karen Waterfront Mall on September 14th, 2023. The event was a celebration of the artistic expression of the journey with eczema.
